Here below is what we had for 2014 Festival

FOLK ON THE QUAY is a free folk music festival in Poole on 28 and 29 June with four outdoor music stages, two ceilidh dances and over twenty teams of morris dancers in the streets overlooking Poole’s lovely Harbour.

Headlining a top line-up of folk names are songwriting troubadour RORY McLEOD and his Familiar Strangers, SHEELANAGIG who deliver intricate, rhythmically complex arrangements in a Balkan style; The CHURCHFITTERS, a popular Anglo-Irish outfit with an original approach to Irish music, and URBAN FOLK QUARTET with their knockout show of globally–influenced, electrifying acoustic music.

New for 2014! A fringe venue, the beautiful old Skinner Street Church, hosts concerts by top artists MIRANDA SYKES & REX PRESTON, JOSIENNE CLARKE & BEN WALKER with support sets from local songwriting duos Ninebarrow and Tinderbox.

2013 was the first festival and attracted a crowd of more than ten thousand people who enjoyed the best of young British folk music and festive colour of morris dancers from all parts of England.

CREDIT - Folk On The Quay is inspired, event-managed, funded and supported by Poole Tourism. The festival is the brainchild of Anne Simpson, Poole Tourism's Events Manger.

Shortlisted for Poole Tourism Award 2013!
Folk On The Quay was shortlisted for the Pomotion prize at Poole Tourism Awards. Sadly we were in competition with ITV's brilliant 'Harbour Lives' series. Apparently it was a close call - hmm.

10,000 turn out for Folk On The Quay!
What an amazing festival at the end of June - on Poole Quay overlooking the harbour.

Fantastic news! Urban Folk Quartet are one of the headline bands at Folk On The Quay on Sunday 29 June. You knew that already? OK, but did you know that two brilliant young friends of ours are playing in the band? Dan Walsh permanently, and Charie Heys, filling in during Paloma's maternity leave. Nice!!
